Installation & Setup
This guide walks you through installing and setting up AnyAutomation Studio.
1. System Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- Siemens TIA Portal V15, V16, V17, V18, V19, V20 or V21
- RAM: Minimum 4 GB, 8 GB recommended
- Hard disk: 2 GB free space
- Internet connection for license validation (at least every 14 days, 14-day offline tolerance)
- Internet connection for the AI Chat function (optional, when an AI provider is configured)
- Administrator rights for installation
2. Installation
- Download the installer from the GitHub releases page
- Run the installer
- Choose the installation path
- Complete the installation
- Start AnyAutomation Studio
3. License Activation
- Create an account or sign in (email + 6-digit code)
- Choose a tier (Basic, Pro, Pro+, Enterprise) or start a 30-day trial
- For paid tiers: complete the Stripe Checkout, or buy on invoice by emailing support@anyautomation.ch (the activation code arrives once payment is in)
- Start AnyAutomation Studio: sign in with the same account
- Hardware binding happens automatically on first sign-in
- The software is activated
4. Siemens TIA Openness Group
For TIA Portal to permit an Openness connection, your Windows user must be a member of the local "Siemens TIA Openness" group. This is a Siemens requirement.
- Open Computer Management
- Local Users and Groups → Groups → "Siemens TIA Openness"
- Add your Windows user as a member
- Sign out and back in so the group membership takes effect
5. TIA Portal Integration
- Open a TIA Portal project directly from file or attach to a running TIA Portal instance
- Check permissions
- Test the connection
- Start using
6. Updates
Automatic update check on startup. Updates are downloaded and installed after confirmation.
7. Troubleshooting
- Check admin rights
- Check membership in the "Siemens TIA Openness" group
- Check the hardware binding in the web portal
- Start TIA Portal in the same user context
